install printer hp d1360 in ubuntu

Ubuntu has bundled with all type of hp printer driver (hplip). We need just to setting up the printer. If your box out of the driver, you can follow this tutorial or you can search on google your self.

  • goto System > Administration > Printing
  • click New Printer. then just follow the wizard.

  • the new printer will be added. its already to use.

note: by default. the printer wouldn’t flow the black ink(cartridge) well.
solution: change the cartridge setting to color + black. open http://localhost:631 click tab Printer > Set Options Printer > Printout Mode. Set to 300 dpi, Color, Black + Color Cartr.

    Mmm… jadi khusus untuk HP Printer nggak lagi pakai driver generik CUPS ya? Atau driver ini juga turunannya CUPS?

    yup, HPLIP adl. turunan CUPS dengan menambahkan fungsi2 seperti scan, fax, indikator tinta, serta frontend yang lebih cantik. dll
    jd HPLIP masih butuh CUPS. :P
